The ECOG-ACRIN Patient Reported Outcomes Web Entry Systems (PROWESs) is a web portal that allows
an easy to use interface for participants to complete surveys online on any web enabled device at
their convenience. Getting an account and completing our surveys should be easy and convenient,
please let us know if there is anything we can do to make this process better for you.
We recognize this can be a very stressful time, full of uncertainty and we appreciate your
willingness to assist us in understanding your treatment goals, concerns and how you feel over
the course of the study. Your well-being is important to us. Because a cancer diagnosis can turn
a persons' world upside-down - we encourage you to seek the support you need from organizations
like Cancer Care (cancercare.org) contactable by phone at 1-800 813 HOPE (1-800 813 4673).
On behalf of the ECOG-ACRIN Outcomes and Economics Assessment Unit, we thank you again for your
participation and look forward to hearing from you.
How do I get an account?
- At the time of study registration, you will complete a participant contact information
form which the study Clinical Research Associate will fax to the Outcomes and Economics
Assessment Unit (OEAU). If you selected email contact and provided a valid email address,
the OEAU personnel will set up your account.
(Accounts are generally created within 2 business days)
- If you had originally selected US Mail contact and have decided you would prefer email
contact, you can do so by updating your patient contact form and faxing it to the OEAU
(at 1 401 863 9635)
- Once your account is created, the system will send an automated email to you at the
email address listed on the contact information form. This email will ask you to verify your
account by clicking the link in the email and verifying some personal information.
If you have any problems or need to correct any information, please email
pro-help@stat.brown.edu.
How do I verify my account?
- After the Clinical Research Associate faxes your personal contact information form to
the OEAU, the OEAU will verify your eligibility and create your account. The system will
automatically send you an “Account verification” email with a unique token.
- Click the link in the email (or copy and paste the URL including the token into your
browser) which will take you to the account verification section of the PRO web Portal.
- You will be asked for some personal information to verify your identity
- You will be asked to set your password
- You will be asked to select a security question and response
- Your account will be activated and you will received an “Account Validated” email.
If you are unable to validate your account, please email
pro-help@stat.brown.edu If you are unable to validate
your account, please email
I’m not getting the emails. What do I do?
The most common reason emails are not received are because you spam, junk
and/or personal email filters may be redirecting or deleting PRO system emails. Emails from the
PRO system are from pro-help@stat.brown.edu
- Search your email for
pro-help@stat.brown.edu and if it is in your junk/spam
folder, mark it as not junk/spam. If it is not in your inbox, then one of your
personal filters is redirecting it and may need to be modified.
- Make sure pro-help@stat.brown.edu is
part of your white list:
This is normally done simply by adding
pro-help@stat.brown.edu to your address book
(review your email documentation for how to do this on your system)
If you are still not receiving emails, please email
pro-help@stat.brown.edu with your name, and phone
number so we can try to assist you in resolving this problem.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
No Problem. Just go back to the portal
(https://prowess.stat.brown.edu) and click the forgot password link and enter the email address
used to set up the account, choose and answer the security
question you entered when you set up the account.
